The young central player could not only learn a lot from the established international star, but also provide Mac Allister with a connection that can offer him quality balls when he is breaking the lines of attack.

Mac Allister thrives on a left-sided starting point in midfield and will often drive the ball forward on the left flank, which could be perfectly complemented by Bajcetic on the right side.

According to The Daily Mail, Everton sent scouts to Scotland last week to take a closer look at Aberdeen striker Luis "Duk" Lopes.

As per the report, the former Benfica centre-forward has caught the attention of the Everton hierarchy following his impressive goal-scoring form in the Scottish Premiership this season amid their search for a capable striker.

There is no doubt that Everton are in desperate need of improvements in their attacking threat after failing to replace the goal contributions of Richarlison and the pace unleashed by Anthony Gordon, which has ultimately been the catalyst in their downfall this season.

The Benfica academy graduate has been lavished with praise since his arrival in Scotland last summer, with his former coach Joao Tralhao hailing Lopes' best assets:

"He is powerful, aggressive, strong and he works hard to press. He also has an amazing instinct to score goals and you could see that with every year he progressed.

"He has a real instinct for goal, which is his top quality. He just scores goals, with his right foot, left foot, chest, head or every part of his body. He has scored a few acrobatic goals for Aberdeen and trust me, that is not usual. That is just Duk."

With that being said, if Lopes can deliver a similar output at Goodison Park, he would be a great asset for the Toffees next season as Dyche goes in search of finally replacing the aforementioned Gordon and Richarlison.

Liverpool have removed themselves from the race to sign RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol due to his extortionate price tag, according to reports in the last 48 hours.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool “no longer” consider Gvardiol a “top target” because FSG believe RB Leipzig’s valuation is “too expensive”. The Bundesliga giants are “demanding” a financial package close to almost £80m, which includes add-ons and extra bonuses, which is a price that the board deem “unrealistic”. The Reds are therefore believed to have now turned their attention towards Eintracht Frankfurt’s Evan Ndicka and Chelsea’s Levi Colwill as suitable alternatives to Gvardiol.

The World Cup “gladiator”, as lauded by journalist Ryan Taylor, has scored nine goals and provided seven assists in 151 appearances throughout his career and ranks in the 97th percentile for successful take-ons, so is comfortable in possession and likes to drive forward out of his box.

Finally, Gvardiol is predominantly a centre-back but he additionally has the versatility to operate at left-back which will be an attractive attribute to Klopp given the bad luck he’s previously had with defensive injuries, so this is yet another reason as to why he’d be an ideal fit at Anfield.

Ryder wasn't alone in his praise for the £120k-p/w midfielder either. Indeed, in the player ratings for Shields Gazette, Dominic Scurr handed him an 8/10 and wrote: "Anchored Newcastle’s midfield nicely despite taking a slight knock. His composure in possession made a big difference in the first half."

With all that in mind, it's safe to say the Magpies look almost certain to finish in the top four with their Brazilian midfielder leading the charge. When quizzed on this after the game, however, manager Howe refused to admit as much.

He told BBC Sport: "It's not for me to say. I saw a very good team playing today, two actually. But there's a lot of games to go and a lot of points to play for."

And with the Magpies occupying third place in the top-flight with just four games to play, six points above Liverpool in fifth, strengthening the position is imperative if European endeavours are to be fruitful next term.

Dumfries is a remarkable threat from the defensive flank, hailed for his "breathless" displays at the 2022 World Cup by pundit Micah Richards.

In Qatar, the £55k-per-week ace scored one goal and two assists – as per Sofascore – as the Netherlands reached the quarter-finals, felled on penalties by eventual champions Argentina, and has scored two goals and provided six assists at club level for Inter this term.

He would be a "deadly" asset to Howe's system, in the words of reporter Marco Messina, and would bring a different form of offensive potency to the fold, with Trippier's strengths placed in a more creative territory, ranking among the top 1% of full-backs for shot-creating actions and the top 6% for progressive passes, than that of a direct threat.

Whether Newcastle succeed in a prospective bid remains to be seen, but such a blistering option would only enrich the talent at St. James's Park and take the club a step closer to success.
