You just crack on to your next one.”It can be a tricky decision to make for a captain too. There might be a temptation to hold back your best bowlers because Russell is still in the dugout. But Morris suggested that such a ploy could be counter-productive.”You always try to take wickets,” Morris said. “If you’re taking wickets, that slows down run rates. It’s pretty simple. You never ever try to keep a guy out there because you’re worried about a guy coming in. Your job is to take wickets, that’s what you’ve got to do.”It still means the sooner Russell comes into bat, the better it is for the opposition. And it is the job of Russell’s team-mates to make sure they stick around so that Russell has the freedom to try to hit every ball for a six.”His role is extremely important, he understands the impact value that he has from the team going from like 180 to 215, like the previous game,” Knight Riders’ Robin Uthappa said. “There’s an impact that he creates in those last four-five overs. It’s important for him to have that sense of freedom. It would be great for him to be in a situation where he has a batsman batting with him, so as to have the freedom to go out there and go after each ball that he faces. Speaking to the press last month, Postecoglou indirectly urged Lilywhites chairman Daniel Levy and co to make a head start on their competition and strengthen key areas.

"The January window, like for every club, is an important one," said Postecoglou on the January window (via football.london).

"My view on the January one is that if you can get your business done early in the window it certainly is more helpful because you leave it until the end of January and sometimes what you train to gain you've missed that opportunity by waiting a whole month."

The addition of Dragusin in particular is welcome news for Tottenham, as it greatly shores up their options in central defence after Postecoglou was left starved of depth for months.

Spurs also put pen to paper on a six-month loan deal for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner, who comes in to provide attacking versatility and more potency in the final third.

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg broke news that Spurs were quickly after Werner, and the deal was concluded in swift fashion. An announcement was made days later, so these next few weeks could be interesting as the club have been surprisingly fast compared to recent transfer windows.

Frendrup has "big potential" to follow Dragusin to Spurs

Now, attention turns to a possible new midfielder, as widespread reports suggest Tottenham are pressing to sign a new number eight after sealing Dragusin.

According to GiveMeSport and journalist Dean Jones this week, it is believed Spurs could look to sign another Genoa player in Morten Frendrup.

Postecoglou's side are apparently keen on signing Frendrup, and Jones claims he has "big potential to follow Dragusin" to north London.

We will have to wait and see how this pans out, but the midfielder would be very affordable for Levy. Tutto Juve recently claimed Genoa value Frendrup at around £9 million, and that's a bargain considering his performances this season.

He currently boasts the most assists for his side with four in Serie A this season, playing more league minutes than any other player in Genoa's squad as a star mainstay (WhoScored).

Cricket West Indies has agreed to the BCCI’s request of pushing back India’s 2019 tour of the Caribbean by a couple of weeks. ESPNcricinfo understands the tour is likely to commence in the first week of August now and run till September 4. The final dates for the India tour along with the venues will be finalised by CWI at its board meeting on May 13.As per the ICC’s Future Tours Programme, India were scheduled to tour the West Indies after the World Cup for a full tour comprising two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is. Although no dates had been finalised, it is believed that India were meant to reach the Caribbean immediately after the World Cup final on July 14. However, the BCCI might have wanted the India players to have a break before the tour, which the CWI was happy to entertain.CWI also wanted a clear window for the Caribbean Premier League, which has now also been rescheduled, owing to the shift in the India tour itinerary. Originally, the seventh edition of the CPL was slotted from August 21 to September 27. As per the revised dates, the tournament will now be played between September 4 and October 12.ESPNcricinfo understands that the BCCI has requested CWI to include a three-day warm-up match during the India tour. India A will also be playing three four-day matches in the West Indies prior to the senior team’s tour game. A final schedule for all the tours will be announced in two weeks’ time.Johnny Grave, CWI’s chief executive officer, said having a clear window would mean all the West Indies players would be available for the CPL. “We are pleased that we have been able to collaborate with CPL to find a spot in our international calendar to ensure that all the best Caribbean cricketers can take part, as the tournament plays a crucial role in our preparations and planning for the T20 World Cup in 2020,” Grave said in a media release issued by CPL.CPL’s chief operating officer Pete Russell said the change of schedule would not hamper the tournament in any way. “The Biggest Party in Sport may have been delayed by two weeks, but it is going to be even better as a result.”
