Sam Curran’s tone-setting 21-ball 31 at the top highlighted the Chennai Super Kings’ daring, new approach with the bat as they put up 167 for 6. The next delivery was also a wide yorker and just as umpire Paul Reiffel was about to signal a wide, Dhoni protested. Reiffel ultimately deemed it a legal ball and at the end of a five-run over, Khan trod on his stumps and holed out off the same delivery. Bravo then closed out a 20-run win with his yorkers and slower dippers.There were other heroes for the Super Kings as well. Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu, who had struck centuries against the Sunrisers previously, countered Khan and Nadeem as both the spinners went wicketless, conceding 59 runs between them. Dhoni unleashed a whipped six off T Natarajan, and Ravindra Jadeja cracked an unbeaten 25 off 10 balls before knocking over Jonny Bairstow with his arm ball. The Sunrisers were 59 for 3 in the tenth over when Bairstow was dismissed, leaving Williamson and the rest of the middle order with too much to do against Super Kings’ seven-man attack.CSK shake things up

Batting first for the first time this season, the Super Kings pushed Watson down to No. 3 to accommodate Curran at the top. Though Faf du Plessis nicked Sandeep Sharma behind for a golden duck, Curran tonked left-arm seamer Khaleel Ahmed for two fours and two sixes in the fourth over. In the next over, Sandeep switched to around the wicket and got one to hold its line to clean up Curran. The Super Kings progressed to 44 for 2 in six overs.Rayudu was dropped by Bairstow on 9 and Watson on 20 by Khan off his own bowling as the pair added 81 off 64 balls. Both batsmen took on Khan in his last over, carting him for sixes. Watson was troubled by the left-arm angle and hard lengths of Nadeem, but Rayudu was more fluent against him, even hoisting him over his head for six.Both set batsmen, however, fell in successive overs in identical fashion – holing out off full-tosses. Armed with a deep bowling attack, Dhoni used all four overs of Deepak Chahar upfront. He went wicketless, but he did find swing and accuracy even though Warner and Bairstow walked at him. Warner was dismissed, by Curran, for the first time in the powerplay this season, and then the Super Kings’ spinners ran rings around the Sunrisers. They even gave Dhoni the luxury of having a slip in the middle overs.By the time Jadeja bowled Bairstow, the Sunrisers were 60 for 3, needing 108 off 10 overs. Karn found sharp turn and teased Priyam Garg before making the incision. However, Piyush Chawla, who had started the season as the Super Kings’ frontline spinner, was barely needed by Tuesday. Imran Tahir, who was ferrying drinks, told the TV commentators that he was “licking his lips” looking at these tiring UAE tracks.Williamson calmly manoeuvred the ball into the gaps and took the chase deep. He was on 21 off 19 at one point, but raised the tempo, finishing with 57 off 39 balls. Khan, who batted at No. 7 in the absence of Abishek Sharma, who was left out for Nadeem, threatened a comeback, but Thakur and Bravo saved the day for the Super Kings.

Fulham's Bobby Decordova-Reid has been linked with a move to the South Coast with the Jamaica international set to reject a new deal at his current club. Decordova-Reid is a versatile player that can operate on the right-hand side as well as in attacking and central midfield.

Joining the Fulham man on the Saints' wishlist is Danny Ings. The current West Ham player has plenty of history with Southampton having played 100 games for the Saints, scoring 46 goals in the process. With former player Adam Lallana returning to the club earlier this month, Southampton could once again be looking at their alumnus for new signings.

Saints hold discussions for young striker

As first reported on The Secret Scout X account, Southampton are just one of a number of clubs who have held talks over a move for 18-year-old striker Ajay Matthews.

Matthews is currently on the books at Middlesbrough but will be departing The Riverside at the end of the season. Whilst the account lists the Saints as one of the interested parties, they will face competition from Celtic, Rangers, Southampton, Brighton & Hove Albion, Brentford and Newcastle United for Matthews' signature.

The report states that the teenager has 16 goals in 17 starts this season for Boro's youth team last season, perhaps suggesting why a queue has formed for his services. Matthews also managed to break into the first team at Middlesbrough this season appearing off the bench in the latter stages of games against Leeds United and Cardiff City back in April.

The striker also made his debut in England's youth set up towards the back end of last season. Matthews made three appearances for the Three Lions' under 17s, grabbing an assist in a 4-2 victory over Northern Ireland in May.

Despite having yet to make an impact on the professional stage, there is no doubt that Matthews could be one to watch for the future. With Southampton's record of developing young talent well known, St Mary's could be viewed as one of the best environments for the 18-year-old to grow and hopefully soon get his first senior start in the Premier League.

The bulk of Spurs' goals came courtesy of Son Heung-min and Richarlison, who scored a combined 29 goals in all competitions and racked up 14 assists between them – which worked wonders to replace Kane's output.

Spurs are also open to offers for over a dozen current squad members, which may well include the likes of Richarlison, Bryan Gil and Manor Solomon, who have been named as players who could be sold by Tottenham in the coming weeks.

Technical director Johan Lange, chairman Daniel Levy and the wider recruitment team have already backed Postecoglou with one attacking addition, as Timo Werner extends his loan deal from RB Leipzig until the end of next season.

Tottenham are expected to make more forward signings after Werner, though, and are linked with a few interesting names. Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze is a transfer target for Spurs, coming amid claims he has a £60 million release clause in his contract.

As per reliable club insider Paul O'Keefe, Tottenham are once again considering a move for Neto alongside Rennes starlet Desire Doue.

Standard Sport claimed back in February that the Portugal international will cost more than £60 million, and they added that Postecoglou is personally a real admirer of Neto.

The 24-year-old's injury record is a real cause for concern, having missed 108 games in total since making the move to Molineux from Lazio. There is little doubting Neto's quality when fit and available, though, with the winger racking up three goals and 11 assists across 24 appearances in all competitions last season.

The schedule for India’s tour to Australia has been rubberstamped with Adelaide to host a day-night Test as part of the four-match series. Melbourne is also set for the traditional Boxing Day Test with a crowd of up to 25,000, although it is yet to be confirmed whether families of the Indian players will join the tour.The ODIs will start on November 27 – just two days after the players complete quarantine – followed by matches on November 29 and December 2, with the T20Is on December 4, 6 and 8. The first Test in Adelaide will begin on December 17. Ahead of the Test series, India A will play Australia A at the Drummoyne Oval from December 6-8, followed by India playing Australia A in a day-night warm-up match at the SCG from December 11-13.The Australia A sides may feature a number of members of the Test side to give them a chance of red and pink-ball practice ahead of the series. For David Warner, Steven Smith, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood returning from the IPL, it would be their only chance of preparation. The first batch of Sheffield Shield matches in Adelaide conclude on November 11.Last week, the New South Wales government signed off on allowing the India squad – and Australia players returning from the IPL – to quarantine and train in Sydney after Queensland had raised issues. Capacity for some family members to join the tour has been built into the plan by the NSW government, but it will be decided between Cricket Australia and the BCCI how those spots are filled. وقال وليد صلاح الدين عبر برنامج “لعبة والتانية” على إذاعة “ميجا إف إم”: “ما هي أمنيتك للكرة المصرية في 2025؟ أهم شيء أننا نحاول تطوير وتحسين فكرة نظرية المؤامرة، نحن لدينا هذه النظرية عالية جدًا لدرجة تؤدي بنا لمنطقة سيئة، أسوأ شيء في 2024 هي بيانات الأهلي والزمالك ضد التحكيم، هذا الأمر يضر الكرة المصرية ويضرب الكرة المصرية في مقتل”.

وتابع: “معروف أن الحكم قاضٍ، هل أحد يعلق على أحكام القضاء؟ ما بالك وأنت تريد أن تغير حكم القاضي نفسه؟ القاضي عنصر بشري، وهو لا يريد أن يخطئ، لأن ببساطة هي حالتين: إما أنه قاصد ويكون مُغرضًا، وأنا متأكد أن كل حكامنا شرفاء، الفكرة أنه يخطئ عن غير عمد، ويخطئ مع كل الأندية، ولو طلبت من كل الأندية تحضير فيديوهات للأخطاء التحكيمية ضدهم، ستجد الأخطاء تحدث مع كل الأندية”.

وأضاف: “والأندية تحذو حذو الأهلي والزمالك لأنهما كبار الكرة المصرية، فأصبحت كل مباراة الفريقين يضغطان على التحكيم ويصدران بيانات بدون فائدة، هذه أمنيتي في 2025 للكرة المصرية، أن ننتهي من هذا الأمر”.

وعن الانتقادات الموجهة لكولر، علق: “آراء الناس تُحترم، بالتأكيد كانت هناك أخطاء فنية، كان لا بد أن يأخذ الأهلي في اعتباره أنه سينافس في بطولات كثيرة، ولا بد أن يكون في الفريق بديل واثنان وثلاثة، لكن الأهلي فعل العكس، أخرج لاعبين مهمين مثل محمد عبد المنعم وديانج وأحمد عبد القادر، وتدعيم الفريق في خط الدفاع كان بلاعبين مصابين مثل أشرف داري ويحيى عطية الله، ولولا تألق رامي ربيعة وياسر إبراهيم لكانت مشكلة”.

واختتم: “الأهلي لا بد أن يطور الفريق، دكة الأحمر لا تشعر أنها بنفس ثقل الموسم الماضي، وكولر من البداية يعمل على فكرة الانضباط والالتزام التكتيكي، ولا يغير طريقة اللعب، عنده ثبات وهدوء وتغييرات متأخرة ليعطي اللاعب أكبر فرصة، لكن الآن البديل الذي يشارك خلال المباريات ليس على مستوى الأساسي، فالأفكار تغيرت والجودة قلت، وربنا يستر على الأهلي في البطولات القادمة، ولا بد أن يتدارك الأهلي هذا الأمر في يناير ويدعم بلاعبين كثيرين”.
