وأكد الاتحاد الإسباني لكرة القدم في بيان رسمي، أن رودري لن يكون متواجدًا مع منتخب إسبانيا خلال فترة التوقف الدولي الحالي، وذلك بسبب إصابته ضد برينتفورد.

وقال بيان الاتحاد الإسباني: ”رودري تخلف عن قائمة منتخب إسبانيا والتي سوف تلعب مباريات في تصفيات كأس العالم 2026 ضد جورجيا في إلتشي وبلغاريا في بلد الوليد، وذلك من خلال الفحوصات الطبية التي خضع لها والتي قدمت من قبل ناديه إلى الخدمات الطبية التابعة للاتحاد الإسباني”.

وكان رودري قد أكد لجماهير مانشستر سيتي أنه بخير، ويشعر فقط بشد خفيف في العضلية الخلفية.

The ECB has charged Vikram Banerjee with accelerating the “global growth” of the Hundred, appointing him managing director of the tournament with immediate effect.Banerjee has been promoted from director of business operations after overseeing Project Gemini, the Hundred’s private investment process which saw the eight teams valued at a combined £975 million.His brief is to finalise the new joint-venture agreements between investors and host counties before working to “ensure alignment and deliver on the strategic growth” of the Hundred, the ECB said on Thursday.A key component of the Hundred’s pitch to prospective investors was a sharp projected increase in the worth of its overseas broadcast rights, which are currently valued at just £2m. Several new investors in teams have media interests in India and the United States. “The overseas market is very important to us,” Richard Gould, the ECB’s chief executive, said earlier this month. “The fact that we have got such a wide ranging set of investors from around the globe will, I believe, help us to add extra value to our overseas broadcast rights.”Gould said in a statement on Thursday: “Vikram has led the work to attract new partners into the competition superbly, and is the perfect person to now conclude these deals and work with the teams and investors to take the Hundred to the next level over the coming years.”It’s testament to the work of many people within the ECB and across the cricket network that the Hundred has already achieved so much, and there was such an appetite from partners wanting to get involved in it.”Rob Hillman, the ECB’s director of major events, will retain control of the Hundred’s operations and delivery, with Banerjee designated as a “strategic lead” focused on the commercialisation and future of the tournament. Moyes keen on defensive signing for Everton

Despite this, Everton manager David Moyes would still like to see new faces added on deadline day, pinpointing a new defender as a priority because of injuries in that area.

“It already has changed a lot of my plans because, obviously, we’re without Jarrad and we have been without Myko for, certainly, the first couple of games. We had this at the end of last season as well, we’ve had it all through the summer.

“It’s not as if we’ve necessarily got it better. We’ve got people back, but others are injured. We’ve just got to make sure that we’re not short again if we can help it – and certainly we were short for the first two games in the Premier League.”

That said, a fresh update suggests that Everton are now looking to snap up a midfielder who can add more quality in the middle of the park this season and beyond.

The Athletic‘s Patrick Boyland reported on Monday morning: “Everton exploring deadline-day move for Freiburg’s Merlin Rohl. Long-time target but still lot to do to get it over line before 7pm deadline. CM a priority area.”

And Boyland has now revealed the deal is close to completion, with the player already having a medical as a loan with obligation to buy move draws closer. The obligation will be around €20m (£17m).

Rohl is the type of player who could add so much quality to Everton’s midfield, with the 23-year-old statistically similar to former Blues midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, possessing box-to-box energy.

The Freiburg ace has won 25 caps for Germany across four different youth age groups, while his former manager, Christian Streich, has lauded him.

If Everton do land a deal for Rohl, and potentially also sign a new right-sided defender, it would complete an impressive summer transfer window that has improved as it has gone on.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ended their Chennai jinx in style, beating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) there got the first time since the first IPL – by a whopping 50 runs, CSK’s biggest defeat at home. The contest was so dead that more than half of CSK’s chase was all about finding out if and when MS Dhoni would bat. He eventually did so at No. 9, only for the second time in his career.The build-up was all about how RCB would tackle 12 overs of spin, but the conditions rolled out inverted the spotlight: how would CSK handle eight overs of traditional seam and swing from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood? Not very well, as their combined figures of 7-0-41-4 demonstrated.And that after RCB’s batters dominated the CSK attack on what was not a straightforward pitch. Like Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar, Khaleel Ahmed drew seam movement and extra bounce, but CSK didn’t have any more such bowlers. Rajat Patidar led RCB’s innings, full of intent, capitalising on a dropped catch when he was on 17, and finishing with 51 off 32 balls. R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were allowed to bowl only five overs, which were taken for 59 runs.Salt, Padikkal knock CSK aroundKhaleel drew some seam movement and uneven bounce in the first over, but CSK hadn’t planned for such conditions. Patidar played a delectable pick-up shot off a Pathirana slower ball in the next over. This 27-run stand in 13 balls gave RCB the impetus they needed before the death overs.In the death overs, though, both fell, even resulting in just one run off the 19th over, bowled by Pathirana. Nesse meio tempo, Marcos Rocha se lesionou mais uma vez, podendo retornar somente nas últimas semanas, outra vez impedindo que Abel pudesse levar a campo sua escalação “ideal”. Assim como Luan, Mayke cumpriu bem sua função nesses últimos tempos, mas para efeito de considerar o “11 ideal”, ainda não é formação clássica do treinador. E não podemos nos esquecer da lesão de Zé Rafael nesse meio do caminho.
