Arsenal supporters are hopeful that reports suggesting the Gunners are heavily interested in Thomas Partey are true, and David Ornstein’s latest update will have them very excited.

Writing for The Athletic, Ornstein has said that the Gunners are interested in the defensive midfielder. He has also provided a very big update as he has written that they are intensifying their pursuit of Partey as they see him as a crucial transfer before the 2020/21 campaign.

This comes after it was announced that youngster Bukayo Saka penned a new contract at the Emirates.

Partey is contracted at Atletico until 2023 but will leave this summer if his £47m release clause is triggered, according to La Razon (via Daily Express).

He has been a rock in front of the defence as he has managed two successful tackles and 1.4 interceptions per game, whilst also averaging 1.9 successful dribbles a game, per WhoScored.

At the age of 27, he could be perfect for Arsenal for the next few years and could help the attacking talent around him have more freedom as he would surely add steel to the midfield.

For the Gunners, the deal seems like a no-brainer and with this big update from Ornstein, fans will get very excited as to what the transfer window can bring for the club.

O Vasco economizou no mercado de contratações neste primeiro semestre. Acertou somente com dois nomes: Marcelo Mattos e Yago Pikachu. Sam Johnstone will continue between the sticks as per usual, although there will be changes to the back four ahead of him. Conor Townsend came on for the injured Gibbs on Sunday and is likely to start at left-back, while Semi Ajayi should come into the side in place of the suspended Hegazi. The other two defensive positions are likely to be unchanged, with Kyle Bartley and Dara O’Shea in the starting line-up again.

Bilic has gone with a defensive midfield duo of Romaine Sawyers and Rekeem Harper in the last couple of games and could preserve that partnership again, although there is a possibility that Jake Livermore may be restored to the team.

While Charlie Austin should keep his place at centre-forward after scoring in both of Albion’s last two matches, there could be a different composition to the attacking midfield trio behind him. Kamil Grosicki scored on his first Baggies start on Sunday and that may be enough to keep him in the side, while Matheus Pereira is sure to start after a hat-trick of assists against Hull.

He could revert to a central role, though, to make way for Grady Diangana on the right after the on-loan winger came off the bench to score at the weekend. That goal might persuade Bilic to put him in from the start this evening, with Filip Krovinovic making way as a result.

A Câmara dos Deputados aprovou na noite desde domingo a admissibilidade do processo de impeachment contra a presidente Dilma Rousseff. Em uma longa sessão, bastante acalorada e que teve clima de estádio de futebol – com duas torcidas organizadas -, o “sim” deu goleada no “não”, tendo mais do que dois terços necessários para o lado da oposição ao governo.

Como a votação foi nominal e pública, vários parlamentares ligados ao esporte tiveram momentos de protagonistas. A chamada “bancada da bola” se dividiu, como raramente acontece nos assuntos relacionados ao futebol que passam pela Câmara. E a maioria dos deputados ligados ao esporte apoiou o processo de impeachment.

A começar pelo relator do texto, o deputado Jovair Arantes, que tem ligações estreitas com o Atlético-GO. Marcelo Aro, diretor da CBF, também pediu a saída de Dilma Rousseff. Aro, inclusive, chegou a ir a uma sessão da comissão do impeachment na Casa com um pixuleco – boneco inflável de Lula fantasiado de “irmão metralha”. Marcus Vicente, que chegou a presidir a CBF na licença de Marco Polo Del Nero, também votou sim.

No lado do “não”, dois ex-ministros do Esporte: George Hilton e Orlando Silva. Além deles, Vicente Cândido, que também é diretor da CBF. A lista contra o impeachment contou também com Andrés Sanchez, ex-presidente do Corinthians.

A sessão deste domingo ainda teve uma camisa da Seleção Brasileira no plenário. Foi vestida com a camisa 10 que a deputada Cristiane Brasil (PTB-RJ) proferiu seu voto de aprovação ao processo.

Agora, o processo de impedimento da presidente Dilma vai para o Senado, onde mais nomes ligados ao esporte – como Romário e Zezé Perrella – vão analisar o tema.

Inter Milan are ready to offer Tottenham Hotspur a swap deal for Tanguy Ndombele, reports claim.

Ndombele has divided opinion all season, despite Daniel Levy insisting he will not be sold this summer.

The 23-year-old, who is Tottenham’s record signing, has struggled to settle down under Jose Mourinho and their relationship has become increasingly strained.

According to Corriere dello Sport, as per @TranSPURS, Inter are prepared to try and prise Ndombele away from north London.

The Italian newspaper suggests Antonio Conte will use Marcelo Brozovic to sweeten the deal.

Relations between the two hit an all-time low last month, but Mourinho has backed Ndombele to succeed at Spurs.

Brozovic was a part of the Croatian side that reached the 2018 World Cup final, and it seems Conte considers him surplus to requirements.

Recent reports had revealed the Croat will be allowed to leave if Inter receive a suitable bid, although it appears he will be used as part of the negotiations for Ndombele.

Mourinho was linked with a move for Brozovic during his time in charge of Manchester United and the offer may be too tempting for him to ignore.

Try as he might, Ndombele has failed to find any consistency this season, although he has still attracted attention from clubs overseas, including Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

The £46m-valued ace has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, which hasn’t helped his case.

The Portuguese has attempted to defuse the rumours circulating online, but it is hard to deny the pair have a rocky relationship.

While Levy has made it clear that the Frenchman will not be up for sale in the summer, Mourinho may find the swap deal hard to resist, as he is well aware his budget has been severely slashed as a result of these uncertain times.
