كشف أحمد إبراهيم مدير شئون اللاعبين بالزمالك، موقف اللاعبين المعارين العائدين للفريق خلال الفترة الحالية من المشاركة في دور الـ32 لدوري أبطال إفريقيا أمام توسكر الكيني.

وكان الزمالك قد استقر على عودة 4 لاعبين من الإعارة، وهم مصطفى فتحي وعمر السعيد ورزاق سيسيه ومحمد أوناجم.

ويستعد الزمالك لمواجهة توسكر الكيني يوم السبت المقبل، ضمن منافسات ذهاب دور الـ32 من مسابقة دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

وأعلن الجهاز الفني للزمالك بقيادة كاريترون، قائمة الفريق التي ستخوض مباراة توسكر الكيني، والتي شهدت غياب رباعي الفريق العائدين من الإعارة طالع القائمة من هنا.

وأكد إبراهيم خلال تصريحات للموقع الرسمي للزمالك: “الرباعي سيتواجدون بقائمة الزمالك الإفريقية بداية من دور المجموعات، وذلك في حالة اجتياز الفريق دور الـ32 أمام توسكر الكيني، حيث سيتم قيدهم بالقائمة الإفريقية في يناير المقبل”.

وأضاف مدير شئون اللاعبين بالزمالك أن الرباعي لن يتواجد في رحلة الفريق المتجهة مساء اليوم الإثنين إلى كينيا لمواجهة توسكر.

What’s the word?

According to Portuguese outlet O Jogo, the Whites are in the race to sign Inter Milan’s Joao Mario, who appears to have no future under Antonio Conte at the San Siro.

It’s claimed that Premier League rivals Newcastle United and his former loan club West Ham United are also keen on signing him before the transfer deadline.

The report also suggests that the Serie A giants have asked for €13m (£12m), which is something Lokomotiv Moscow aren’t prepared to pay after his most recent loan spell.

One-time flop?

Temporary stints in east London and Russia is hardly what you’d expect from a player that’s won the Euros and one that cost a total of €45m (£41m) in 2016 but that’s where Joao Mario finds himself.

He’s struggled to make much of an impact in recent seasons.

During his time at the Hammers, the 27-year-old only contributed to three goals from 13 appearances, averaging 1.3 dribbles, 1.2 key passes and 1.2 shots per game, though that improved to five goals and 2.5 key passes per match in Moscow last term, via WhoScored.

Perhaps it’s his versatility to be able to play through the middle and out wide that has held him back as he’s never been able to cement down a proper position despite possessing undoubted technical ability.

His idol is Zinedine Zidane and he’s even been compared to former Spurs beast Mousa Dembele, so maybe that’s a glimpse into what he believes is his ‘true’ position.

David Moyes believes the Portuguese maestro “brings a little bit of flair, he’s good on the ball, and a bit of natural talent,” adding: “What goes unnoticed is that he’s actually a really hard-working boy as well.”

Whether Marcelo Bielsa can be the man to bring the potential back out of him very much remains to be seen.

Former Liverpool striker Danny Ings showcased just how much progress he has made in the last 12 months after bagging his first goal for his country last night.

The Southampton star man led the line for England in a friendly against Wales in only his third ever international appearance. Gareth Southgate opted to deploy Ings alongside in-form Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who also got himself on the scoresheet.

Since his move from Merseyside last year, Ings has hit an astonishing upward trajectory. His hard work and dominant presence for his new club has more than paid off after pulling on his Three Lions jersey twice this year following a five-year absence.

Ings resurrecting his career

After a difficult four years at Liverpool, Ings made the decision to ply his trade elsewhere. Southampton came knocking for his services last summer and paid a respectable £20million for him, certainly an amount Ralph Hasenhuttl will see as very well spent now. Indeed, the 28-year-old will also see the move as one of the best career decisions he has ever made.

Ings was hammered by injuries during his time on Merseyside, spending a total of 498 days out of action with knee problems. After tearing his ACL in 2015, the forward missed 85 senior matches for the Reds and had fallen drastically down the pecking order once he did return (via Transfermarkt). The arrival of Roberto Firmino and with Daniel Sturridge next in line meant Ings saw very little action during his final years at Liverpool.

But his switch to Southampton seems to have sparked a whole new era in Ings’ career. Last season he finished as Hasenhuttl’s top scorer with an impressive 22 goals in the Premier League. The Winchester-born ace finished with the same amount of goals as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, just one behind Golden Boot winner Jamie Vardy (via Premier League).

Ings vs Wales

His recent form has kickstarted the fire many thoughts Ings had lost after his ACL surgery. After opening up his international account with a stunning bicycle kick against Wales, it’s going to be very hard for Southgate to ignore him as a glaring option moving forward.

Ings’ return to the England squad wasn’t just about his goal either. He had a solid performance alongside strike partner Calvert-Lewin and played the full 90 minutes, something that was perhaps unexpected.

The 28-year-old had 100% shot accuracy and made a further key pass in addition to his goal scored. He also won three out of his eight duels attempted, which is a respectable number for a striker (via FotMob).

It can only be expected that Ings will continue his upward climb this season for both club and country. After his strong performance against Wales, he could be in contention to take part in the upcoming EUROs.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has had a mixed time at Everton, but the Toffees’ latest post has some fans calling for his reinstatement into the starting XI.

The Iceland international was signed for a club-record fee of £45m in 2017 after scoring 27 goals and providing 25 assists in three Premier League campaigns with Swansea City. Six goals and five assists in all competitions during the 2017/18 campaign was a slow start, but he returned to his best the following term, managing 14 and seven respectively.

Last time out, though, he was a shadow of his former self, seeing himself involved in just six goals in 38 games. The Everton supporters were far from happy with him – when it was suggested he could depart for MLS side DC United during the previous transfer window, the Toffees faithfulÂwere delighted.

However, it seems they may have completed a U-turn. On Monday, Everton’s official Twitter page shared a video of the 31-year-old scoring against West Ham in 2019. That led to many supporters showing support for Sigurdsson, with one fan even calling for him to start against Southampton next weekend. Another, meanwhile, has suggested he should be in the side ahead of Portugal international Andre Gomes.
