Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton could reportedly be listening to offers for the club’s Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Football Insider recently reported about Sigurdsson’s situation at Goodison Park, saying that the former Tottenham man will likely be on the market in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Everton prepared to sell Sigurdsson despite loss

The report from Football Insider has stated that, while Ancelotti happens to be an admirer of the former Swansea man, he turns 32 later this year and he will also enter the final year of his contract next season. Also, despite fine form, the report added that Everton feel he hasn’t lived up to the fee for which they signed him in 2017.

It has been reported that Everton are looking to sell one key player in the summer to bolster and reinvest in their squad, and Sigurdsson could certainly be that player. The Toffees are prepared to sell the midfielder, even if they will incur a loss on their initial investment.

Having said that, the 31-year-old’s current salary could prove to be a stumbling block in any potential sale, as Sigurdsson earns more than £100,000 per week.

2021 could be a good time to sell Sigurdsson

While Sigurdsson is currently valued at £16.2m by Transfermarkt, his value has fallen over the last two years and that isn’t a good sign for Everton, especially considering that he signed for a fee of £44.46m.

While he has an impressive six goals and nine assists this season, Sigurdsson isn’t getting any younger; and since his current contract expires in the summer of 2022, they can’t afford to let him go for free next year.

Because of his age, reducing value and contract length, it would make sense for Everton to sell Sigurdsson in the summer if an ideal suitor can be found.

وفي حديثه قبل الإعلان عن نتيجة اختبار ديفيز الإيجابي، سُئل حسن صالح حميديتش عن إمكانية تأجيل المباراة ضد بوروسيا مونشنجلادباخ.

وقال لـ DPA: “لدينا حاليًا 10 لاعبين خارج الملعب واثنين من حراس المرمى، لهذا السبب نفكر في كيفية لعب المباراة وناقشنا الوضع مع رابطة البوندسليجا”.

إذا لم يكن لدى بايرن ما لا يقل عن 15 لاعبًا مؤهلاً، بما في ذلك تسعة لاعبين خارج الملعب من الفريق الأول وحارس مرمى واحد، فقد يتم تأجيل المباراة.

Plenty of Aston Villa fans have been reacting to a post regarding a possible permanent swoop for on-loan midfielder Ross Barkley.

According to Football Insider, Villa chief executive Christian Purslow is spearheading a permanent move for the 27-year-old, with the Blues wanting £35m for his full-time services.

Dean Smith is reportedly yet to be convinced over a potential club-record deal this summer, with Barkley failing to start any of the club’s last four Premier League games, despite Jack Grealish missing those fixtures with a leg issue.

Football Insider went on to add that Villa paid Chelsea a huge £11m fee to take Barkley to the Midlands for the 2020/21 season.

The Blues paid Everton just over £15m for the England international back in 2018 – meaning Villa have handed Chelsea 66% of that deal three years ago just for a loan spell.

وتقام في الوقت الحالي منافسات الأمم الإفريقية التي سنتنتهي يوم 6 فبراير 2022.

Heading into the New Year period, Dion Sanderson was very much a bit part of this Sunderland side.

The 21-year-old had started just two matches for the Mackems and it was looking like a failed loan spell.

The defender arrived from Wolves last summer but it’s taken until recent months for the young prodigy to finally make his mark.

His form has been exemplary too. Sanderson has formed part of a centre-back pairing that kept five clean sheets in a row prior to the 1-1 draw with Lincoln.

It almost defies belief, therefore, that he didn’t receive much of a chance in the early months of the season. It will be a decision that Phil Parkinson rues but one that’s seen Lee Johnson take Sunderland to the next level.

With Sanderson in their backline, the Black Cats have risen to third in the League One table. He has stepped up admirably with a number of defenders out injured.

Without troubles to the likes of Tom Flanagan, Jordan Willis and Bailey Wright, he wouldn’t have got a chance.

His opportunity has come about as mere good fortune. That being said, he has taken it on excellently and flourished under the stewardship of Johnson.

Sanderson has started nine consecutive league games at centre-half, winning 18 aerial duels and making 30 clearances over that time frame. His numbers are phenomenal and as a result of his performances, Sunderland want him back next season; that’s regardless of the division they’re in.

It’s something that Kevin Phillips would love to see. Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, he said: “He’s been very impressive and has looked assured and confident on the ball, so yes, it’s no surprise he’s getting linked.”

Phillips continued: “I hope that he finishes the season strongly and helps them go up. I’d love to see him stay at the club next year because I think he’ll just continue to get better.”

If Sunderland don’t achieve promotion then bringing him back to the Stadium of Light will surely be much harder for Kristjaan Speakman. After all, the young defender has already played at Championship level for Cardiff City.

If you heed the notion from Phillips that Sanderson will only get better, it’s hard to see his future in the third tier.

He has been so impressive and so vital to Sunderland that they simply have to try and bring him back. Wolves will have little use for him in the Premier League so it would be surprising if a deal couldn’t be struck.

That being said, it will surely all hinge on promotion. Johnson knows what he must do.

وقال بيكيه عقب نهاية المباراة في تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “ماركا” الإسبانية: “أعتقد أننا تنافسنا بشكل جيد للغاية، ولكننا لم نفز، هذه لم تكن النتيجة التي نريدها أو نتوقعها، إنها خسارة مؤلمة لأننا كنا قريبين للغاية من تحقيق الفوز”.

Steven Gerrard looks to have been handed a potential blow at Rangers ahead of next season, with Filip Helander having been linked with a move away from Ibrox in the past week.

According to Football Insider, both Aston Villa and Leicester City are considering a move for the 27-year-old centre-back, who has been at the heart of Gerrard’s defence alongside Conor Goldson for much of the season and has played a huge part in their title success.

The Swedish international has appeared in 21 of Rangers’ 33 top-flight fixtures so far this season, in which he has averaged an impressive 7.11 rating for his performances.

The Light Blues’ title win has been built on a strong defence, with Gerrard’s side having shipped just 10 goals in the top-flight so far this season, so to lose someone who has been an important part of that would undoubtedly be a huge blow to the 40-year-old ahead of the next campaign.

The former Bologna man reportedly earns £10k per week at Rangers, and given the additional funds that will be available to Rangers next season with Champions League revenue and hopefully the return of fans, Ross Wilson should ensure that the Ibrox outfit are not bullied into selling Helander for a low fee.

The centre-back is an international with Sweden and is a good age for a centre-back, yet Transfermarkt suggests that he is currently valued at just £1.8 million.

Considering Rangers paid around £3.5 million to Bologna to sign Helander, as well as his impressive form this season, you would hope that the champions would be aiming to receive at least £5 million should he make the move to the Premier League this summer.

Gerrard clearly considers Helander a valuable member of his squad, describing him as a “leader” in 2019, so Wilson should do everything he can to keep hold of the Swede ahead of next season. If that’s not possible, then he must negotiate a reasonable fee if the player does have his heart set on a move down south.
