One of the few positives for Everton fans following their 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday evening was the return of Jean-Philippe Gbamin from injury.

The midfielder replaced goalscorer James Rodriguez with 10 minutes remaining at Goodison Park.

Gbamin joined Everton in the summer of 2019 but had only made two appearances for the club before last night. He has been through an injury nightmare, sidelined this season by an Achilles tendon rupture following a lengthy hamstring injury last term.

The Ivorian touched the ball 15 times during his cameo, completing six passes and making one tackle and one clearance (via SofaScore).

Expectations will have to be managed in the coming weeks given the length of his absence. He had last played competitive football 597 days ago, as the official Everton Twitter account noted after the game.

A number of supporters questioned the wisdom of introducing in such a high-stakes situation. Everton went onto surrender their lead, a significant setback to their hopes of finishing of the top four.

Perhaps Carlo Ancelotti ought to have delayed Gbamin’s comeback for a moment when the result was settled – these Toffees on Twitter certainly seemed to think so.

Pundit Noel Whelan has recently delivered his verdict on Patryk Klimala, making his views clear about his potential exit.

Klimala was linked with a move to MLS side NY Red Bulls in recent weeks, with the American side eyeing a permanent transfer for the young forward.

Klimala might have burnt his bridges with Celtic

Whelan was recently talking to Football Insider and he gave his views about the potential exit of Klimala. He believes that irrespective of who the next Celtic manager is, Klimala will depart Parkhead. The pundit feels that it is time for the forward to move on as the bridges have been burnt already.

The pundit stated: “I think regardless of who comes in, Klimala’s time is up. I think bridges have been burnt. It is time for him to move on.

“You need to be strong with players and Kennedy has done that. Klimala is not needed. He is surplus to requirements so you have got to try and get rid of him this summer.

“If you are not showing significant signs of improvement then you have to move on, especially at a big club like Celtic. This is the footballing world.”

Klimala had arrived at Parkhead from Polish club Jagiellonia Bialystok for a fee of £3.60 million. Since joining the club in January 2020, the striker has played 28 times in all competitions only, scoring three times for the side (as per Transfermarkt).

Klimala would still need replacing

Klimala has come on from the bench 14 times in the Premiership this season, starting three games. He also made four appearances in the Europa League, which shows that even if he isn’t a regular for the Hoops, he does add depth to the side (as per Whoscored).

Leigh Griffiths has been linked with a move to Aberdeen and Odsonne Edouard has drawn interest from Leicester and Arsenal, which shows that the Hoops could be losing multiple forwards in the summer.

In a situation like that, losing Klimala could be another big loss to the side even despite his less than impressive goalscoring exploits. If he does go, it is critical the Bhoys bring more depth in to replace him.

وأكمل: “كيروش يمتلك شخصية قوية جدًا، وهذا سبب في تركيز كل اللاعبين وأداء المنتخب يتطور للأفضل”.

وواصل: “الجميع يعلم قيمة محمد صلاح مع منتخب مصر، قائد ولاعب كبير جميع المنتخبات تعمل له حساب، شخصية محترمة وقيادية، لاعبو المغرب كان يخشون التدخل على صلاح، كل لاعب في المغرب كان يخشى التدخل على صلاح بمفرده لكي لا يتم مراوغته”.

وأردف: “الروح القتالية سر المكسب أمام المنتخب المغربي، البعض شكك في منتخب مصر وكنا نرى أن المنتخب بعيد عن منتخبات كوت ديفوار والمغرب والسنغال، كيروش خلال ثلاثة أو أربعة أشهر، استطاع أن يظهرنا أننا منتخب كبير وأعاد هيبته، لديه نظام واستراتيجية ورؤية مختلفة عن أي أحد أخر، واستفدنا من كأس العرب”.

O Guarani começou bem na partida e conseguiu abrir o placar logo aos 11 minutos com Ferreira, de cabeça, após cruzamento de Fumagalli. Com o 1 a 0, o Bugre recuou o time e Reinaldo Alagoano conseguiu empatar aos 30. Dez minutos depois veio a virada. Diogo acertou um lindo chute de fora da área e Leandro não conseguiu fazer a defesa, apesar de ter tocado nela antes de entrar.

Perdendo, o time visitante foi para cima, porém faltava criatividade na hora da criação das jogadas. Esperando um erro do adversário, o ASA conseguiu ampliar, com Diogo novamente. Atacante chutou de longe e contou com falha do goleiro para balançar as redes. O Guarani quase diminuiu na reta final, mas Thiago Braga fez boa defesa após bom chute de Fumagalli.

أكد وائل جمعة مدير منتخب مصر على أن لاعبي الفراعنة اكتسبوا احترام العالم بعد الأداء الكبير الذي قدموه في بطولة كأس الأمم الإفريقية، لافتًا إلى الدور الكبير الذي قام به البرتغالي كارلوس كيروش المدير الفني للفريق الوطني.

وقال وائل جمعة خلال تصريحاته عبر قناة “dmc” عقب وصول بعثة منتخب مصر إلى مطار القاهرة: “كسبنا احترام العالم كله، وأثبتنا أن المصريين لا يوجد عندهم يأس، حتى وإن لم نتوج بالبطولة فنحن لعبنا بروح وإصرار، معجزة في كرة القدم أن نلعب 4 مباريات بهذه القوة ونتأهل إلى النهائي، لأننا عندنا شخصية قوية”.

وتابع: “كنا نحتاج التتويج بالبطولة لكي يفرح اللاعبون لأنهم تعبوا واجتهدوا ولكن بالتأكيد القادم سيكون أفضل”.

Previously rumoured to be considering a move for a centre-back in the summer transfer window, Manchester United have now been linked with a move for a current Premier League defender.

According to Danish outlet BT, the Red Devils are interested in Joachim Andersen, who is on-loan at Fulham from Ligue 1 giants Lyon. Despite the Cottagers having struggled back in the top flight throughout the 2020/21 campaign, the Danish centre-back has impressed hugely, so he could be an excellent candidate for the Red Devils in their search for a defender.

Rated at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, Andersen has already made 26 appearances for Scott Parker’s men in the Premier League, helping them to keep nine clean sheets in the process. Meanwhile, the four-cap international has captained the London club on 14 separate occasions so far.

When compared to current United centre-back Victor Lindelof, Andersen certainly appears to be a far better option.

According to WhoScored, the Fulham defender has averaged one tackle and 1.3 interceptions per match in the Premier League this season whilst the Swede has only managed to accumulate 0.8 and 0.9 of the same numbers so far.

Meanwhile, Andersen has also racked up a huge five clearances per game this season, with only four players in the entire league having contributed more. Lindelof, playing in a team subjected to far less defensive pressure, can only offer 3.3 per game.

Andersen’s excellent form continues to be hugely impressive in the air with his 3.2 successful aerial duels per game compared to Lindelof’s 2.3.

Based off of his performances, the on-loan Fulham man would certainly be an extremely useful partner for Harry Maguire at the heart of the Manchester United defence.

The Red Devils should absolutely follow up their reported interest in Andersen and make him one of their summer signings.

يأمل الإيطالي، لوتشيانو سباليتي، المدير الفني لنادي نابولي، أن ينجح لاعب فريقه السنغالي، كاليدو كوليبالي، في التتويج بلقب كأس أمم إفريقيا على حساب مصر، وأن يعود مدافعه بطلًا لإفريقيا إلى البارتينوبي.

ويُقام غدًا مساء الأحد على ملعب “أوليمبي”، بالعاصمة الكاميرونية ياوندي، في تمام الساعة التاسعة مساءً بتوقيت القاهرة، نهائي أمم إفريقيا بين مصر والسنغال.

سباليتي حرص على توجيه رسالة لـ كوليبالي، على هامش المؤتمر الصحفي الخاص بمباراة فينيزيا في الدوري الإيطالي.

وقال سباليتي: “نحن ننتظر كوليبالي بأذرع مفتوحة، وهو في الملعب يعرف ما يجب أن يفعله من أجله ولزملائه في الفريق، فهو دائمًا ما يضع استعداده لكل شيء”.

وأضاف: “السنغال أقوياء، إنهم يستحقون الفوز بـ كأس الأمم الإفريقية، كانوا جيدين للغاية في البطولة”.

Plenty of Crystal Palace supporters have been reacting to an update on the club’s reported interest in Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey on social media. 

Transfer expert Nicolo Schira suggested last month that the Eagles enquired over the possibility of signing the Wales international in the summer, along with Premier League rivals West Ham.

However, according to The Athletic, Ramsey is enjoying his football under Andrea Pirlo and has received no indication the Italian giants want to sell him over the coming months.

Ramsey, valued at £18m by Transfermarkt, is under contract in Turin until 2023.

He’s made 28 appearances in all competitions for Juventus this season, and it doesn’t seem as if a move to Selhurst Park has any legs.
