West Ham United will be looking to continue their impressive start to the 2021/22 campaign when they return after the international break on Saturday with a trip to Southampton.

The Irons ended the transfer window with a bang by signing two players, taking their total to four new additions – but with the incomings, it hands manager David Moyes a fresh selection headache.

His side are currently unbeaten in the Premier League, where they occupy second place on seven points and are the division’s leading scorers having found the net ten times in three matches.

But what is now Moyes’ best starting line-up following deadline day? Football FanCast take a look into what could be the strongest XI available at the 58-year-old’s disposal…

The Scot has plenty of options to consider, especially tactically as he now has enough depth to consider other formations – for instance, his three-at-the-back formation has been bolstered by the addition of Kurt Zouma from Chelsea.

In what has to be considered quite the coup – landing a Premier League and Champions League winner – the 26-year-old colossus is likely to come straight into the side and should pair Angelo Ogbonna over Craig Dawson or Issa Diop.

They’ll undoubtedly be joined by Aaron Cresswell and Vladimir Coufal on either flank.

But in goal, there’s a big decision to make, having signed PSG’s Alphonse Areola on a loan deal.

It’s surely only a matter of time before the young shot-stopper replaces Lukasz Fabianski, 36, between the sticks.

If Moyes wants to see if he’s the man for the long-term, then he’s going to have to be given a fair crack. The Polish veteran has long been the no.1 favourite, ever since the Manuel Pellegrini days, but considering his age, the club must find a suitable replacement sooner rather than later.

In midfield, deadline day addition Alex Kral is unlikely to feature due to the impressive form and partnership of Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek. His time is likely to come in the Europa League when the group stages get underway in a few weeks time.

However, Nikola Vlasic is likely to come straight into the side after the Irons committed an initial €30m (£26m) plus €9m (£7.5m) in add-ons to sign the former Everton flop, per Sky Sports.

The Croatian playmaker is likely to take up the ‘Jesse Lingard’ role in attacking midfield, with the creative wide man Said Benrahma and the £96k-per-week beast Jarrod Bowen providing the threat from the wings and Michail Antonio in the attack.

He’s started this campaign on fire, bagging four goals and three assists to top the Premier League’s charts.

According to Football Insider, a Thorp Arch source has informed them that Leeds ‘will keep a dialogue open’ regarding a move for O’Brien in January.

A winter move to Elland Road is described as a ‘possibility’, with former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell claiming “around £15million or £20million” could see them get their man.

The Verdict: Phillips replacement?

O’Brien may still be a work in progress, but he is a formidable performer for Huddersfield, with journalist Steven Chicken calling him ‘blistering’ in the past.

With Kalvin Phillips potentially not sticking around forever at Elland Road, it could be that Marcelo Bielsa views O’Brien as a long-term replacement for the Leeds and England star.

The Huddersfield ace possesses a similar level of energy off the ball and quality on it – he is averaging 1.2 tackles per game in the league this season – and should only improve in the years to come.

Após passar sem ser vazado a primeira etapa mesmo jogando pior, o Tricolor começou a criar mais perigo depois do intervalo, tanto que Egídio tirou em cima da linha aquele que seria o primeiro gol do Grêmio no jogo.

Borja, um pouco antes disso, havia perdido grande chance, de cabeça. O colombiano jogou os 90 minutos, participou bastante do jogo, mas fez algumas jogadas estabanadas. Cuca tentou dar mais força ataque e colocou Willian, Raphael Veiga e Róger Guedes. O meia foi quem resolveu o jogo – com a ajuda, claro, de dois adversários.

Em uma jogada de linha de fundo, o camisa 20 cruzou para a área, Machado tentou o corte, a bola ainda tocou em Bressan e o goleiro Léo passou pela bola, que entrou mansa.

Apesar de o lance ter sido definido por dois erros dos gaúchos, o placar foi merecido pois o Palmeiras foi o time que criou mais oportunidades, ainda que muitas delas sem direção. O time reserva de Renato Gaúcho encontrou muitos problemas para chegar em Prass.

E assim o Verdão continua subindo na tabela. Com quatro vitórias seguidas no Brasileirão, o time é o terceiro colocado, com 19 pontos – só pode perder a posição para o Flamengo. O Grêmio, com 22, segue na vice-liderança, mas pode ver o Corinthians, líder com 26, disparar no domingo.

Terça, o Tricolor visita o Godoy Cruz, pelas oitavas da Liberta, enquanto que o Verdão vai ao Equador na quarta enfrentar o Barcelona.

كان برايثوايت يريد إثبات خطأ وجهة نظر تشافي لكن الإدارة أغلقت في وجهه كافة المحاولات وتريد منه الرحيل سواء إلى الدوري الإنجليزي أو أي فريق آخر لتخفيف كتلة الرواتب.

الجدير بالذكر أن برايثوايت لا يريد العودة مرة أخرى إلى إنجلترا بعد تجربته السابقة مع ميدلسبره قبل سنوات ويريد الاستمرار في الدوري الإسباني لذلك ربما يكون عرض فالنسيا مقنعًا في الفترة المقبلة.

زعمت تقارير صحفية برتغالية، أن نادي ليفربول يرغب في التعاقد مع أحد لاعبي فريق سبورتينج لشبونة البرتغالي، في نافذة الانتقالات الصيفية.

ليفربول في الميركاتو الصيفي أبرم ثلاث صفقات، حيث تعاقد وصيف الدوري الإنجليزي مع داروين نونيز وفابيو كارفاليو، إلى جانب كالفين رامزي.

وحسب صحيفة “ليفربول إيكو” نقلًا عن وسائل إعلام برتغالية، فإن ليفربول يريد التعاقد مع ماتيوس نونيز صانع ألعاب سبورتينج لشبونة.

وأشارت الصحيفة إلى ليفربول يستعد لبدء مفاوضات رسمية مع إدارة لشبونة من أجل الحصول على توقيع نونيز.

وقالت الصحيفة إن صاحب الـ”23″ عامًا، قد يكلف خزائن ليفربول 45 مليون جنيه إسترليني، إذ يمثل اللاعب أولوية للمدرب الألماني يورجن كلوب هذا الصيف.

Many Wolves fans have been left fuming at a surprising statistic which emerged following the weekend’s defeat to Brentford.

Coming on the back of a 2-0 away win at Watford, their first league win under Bruno Lage, Wolves suffered their fourth defeat in five games on Saturday through first half goals by Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbuemo, handing Brentford their first away win of the season.

Wolves failed to apply any clinical touch to their attack at Molineux on Saturday and now sit 16th in the Premier League table, with Southampton and Newcastle United next up for Lage’s side.

Following the defeat, Twitter account Talking Wolves posted a statistic which has angered many Wanderers fans. Despite the match lasting for more than 99 minutes, the ball was only in play for 50 minutes and 43 seconds, meaning that for almost half of the match it was out of play for either VAR checks or other stoppages.

Brentford’s resilience and apparent time-wasting manoeuvres received stick from numerous Wolves fans, with David Raya once changing his gloves midway through the second half.
