If you get through the first half-hour of your innings, every wicket around the world seems like it’s a pretty good wicket. Most of our batters found it tough to get through that today. Hopefully tomorrow we can make it difficult for the Indians as well.”There hasn’t been a lot of spin yet. Ashwin has got a few to be a bit inconsistent, bounce-wise. I guess for a finger-spinner, that’s probably as much assistance as turning the ball a lot anyway. I thought Ashwin did a good job for them today, he changes his pace up all the time, he has got a fair bit of variation. I think Nathan Lyon can learn a little bit from that in how he can apply his skills in the second innings.”Sehwag got through that first half hour in the first innings, but ended his innings playing on. O projeto foi colocado em prática por conta da necessidade de tentar buscar uma forma de veiculação dos jogos do Campeonato Catarinense que não fossem ao ar na TV aberta, uma vez que a Globo não renovou o contrato de pay-per-view e da TV fechada para transmissão do campeonato estadual, como explicou mandatário da SC Clubes, Luiz Henrique Ribeiro.

– O FCplay.tv nasceu de uma necessidade dos clubes de Santa Catarina em razão da não renovação do contrato de TV fechada com a Rede Globo. Foi criado e lançado pela SC Clubes em parceria com a FCF e se mostrou uma plataforma inovadora e que prevê uma divisão mais justa das cotas do resultado econômico obtido. Tenho certeza que será uma tendencia nacional, e o nosso estado, por meio de uma ideia pioneira, deu o primeiro passo – comentou Luiz.

A princípio, o FCplay.tv foi um grande desafio de operação e modelagem, tanto é que a iniciativa só foi colocada no ar no 2º turno do Campeonato Catarinense, transmitindo quatro jogos por rodada com qualidade de transmissão similar àquela veiculada pelo SporTV.

O projeto é considerado uma vitória para os clubes, principalmente pelo fato mais relevante ser uma justiça maior na divisão dos resultados econômicos, pois quando o assinante compra o pacote escolhe o clube do coração, que recebe 50% do valor, os outros 50% são divididos de forma igual entre os dez clubes da competição. O que tornou as cotas mais justas para todos os participantes.

George Bailey has conceded he will only win respect as Australia’s new Twenty20 captain if he scores runs himself, regardless of how the side performs. Bailey’s highest score in the shortest format is 60 and he has made only one T20 half-century in the past three seasons, but he said batting at No.5 opportunities were often limited and his record “stands up against anyone”.Bailey will make his T20 international debut on Wednesday against India in Sydney, and he will do it as captain after Australia’s selectors axed Cameron White from the T20 leadership. A successful state captain with Tasmania, Bailey, 29, is seen by John Inverarity’s panel as the man who has the best chance of steering Australia to success in the ICC World Twenty20 in September.However, he will need to ensure he doesn’t succumb to the same fate as Michael Clarke, who was viewed as a tactically shrewd T20 captain but whose own batting skills were not suited to the game. Bailey is a more powerful striker than Clarke and has a T20 strike-rate of 132, but it remains to be seen whether he can turn himself from a good domestic batsman into an international one.”You are captain but first and foremost you’re in there to perform,” Bailey told ESPNcricinfo. “That dictates a hell of a lot of the respect that you have. Part of my performance will be my captaincy but the majority of it will be with the bat. I have to perform. I think in T20 you look at whether people are contributing in partnerships, or what stage they come in, or when they hit their boundaries and their sixes, to be an effective cricketer.”Some Australian fans might judge whether Bailey is an effective cricket based on his first two T20 outings this week, if they have not already seen him play. While the pressure of performing as the national captain cannot completely be avoided, Bailey is confident that he shut out any such distractions against India on Wednesday and Friday.”It’s not something I’ll be feeling in the group,” he said. “Cricketers are aware that we play in a performance-based game and the pressure sometimes of what other people are thinking, that’s often built up in the media. Virender Sehwag has said that he was not aware that one of the reasons MS Dhoni wanted to rotate the three openers in the Commonwealth Bank Series was that Dhoni thought playing all three would cost 20 runs in the field. Sehwag captained India, in Dhoni’s absence, against Sri Lanka, and he, Gautam Gambhir and Sachin Tendulkar played together for the first time in the tournament. Sehwag said Dhoni had chats with all three individually, saying that youngsters should get enough exposure in these conditions keeping in mind the next World Cup will be played in Australia and New Zealand. Sehwag said he was fine with that reasoning but was unaware that Dhoni had said, after the February 19 match against Australia, that he couldn’t fit all three openers in a given XI because of their slowness in the field.”No we didn’t know that,” Sehwag said. “I didn’t know what he said and what’s going on in the media. But we decided, we had a meeting, he chatted with everyone, with Gautam and myself and Tendulkar; he explained that he wanted to give chances to youngsters so youngsters can play all the matches here because the next World Cup is also here, so they’ll get an idea of how the pitches behave in Australia.”Sehwag was asked if accommodating all three openers in an XI was not feasible. “I don’t think so, we played together in the World Cup and we won games,” he said. “We want to give chances to youngsters and it’s good for every team to just keep rotating players so they will be fresh for the next game; so that’s what I think [it is about].”When asked about their fielding, Sehwag asked: “Did you see my catch?” and smiled. He was referring to the full-length diving catch he took at midwicket to send Mahela Jayawardene back. “We are same for the last 10 years. Nothing has changed,” he said.Sehwag was then asked if the 20 runs that the younger legs are supposed to save in the field are a good enough reason to keep persisting with then even as they continue to flounder with the bat. “You have to ask Dhoni again,” he said. “What he told us is he has to give chances to youngsters; they will come here and play the next World Cup. That’s what he told us.”Is he now going to have a chat with Dhoni? “Why should I have a chat with him? He is the captain, he is the leader; if he and the coach think we should give breaks to the top order, that’s fine, I am okay with that. I don’t have any issues with that.”Is Sehwag surprised at this apparent lack of communication? Shouldn’t he now confront the captain? “I am available for all the matches. It depends on the captain and the coach, what XI they pick. If they give the reason that we want to give chances to youngsters and you take a break, I am happy with that.”In principle, though, Sehwag remains a supporter of the rotation policy, and said he had been advocating it for a long time. “I have been saying for a couple of years that we have got to rotate. Give more chances to youngsters because they will play more matches in the coming years. I told Dhoni before the last World Cup that if [Suresh] Raina, Rohit [Sharma], Virat Kohli play 100 matches they will get good experience so that they can fire at the right time. So it’s good thinking.”On the surface, there seems to be a serious lack of communication in the Indian camp. After India win a game, Gautam Gambhir says the game should not have been taken into the last over. The next day, Dhoni says the set top-order batsmen should finish games off. There are various reasons given for the rotation policy, and if Sehwag is to be believed he has learned from the press that Dhoni thinks the top-order trio is too slow in the field.Despite all that, Sehwag says the team is one happy unit. “We are one unit.
