David Warner has been dropped from Austalia’s squad for the ODIs against Scotland and England, while Mitchell Starc will also return to Australia due to lower back soreness

David Warner has been dropped from Austalia’s squad for the ODIs against Scotland and England, while Mitchell Starc will return to Australia after complaining of lower back soreness. Steven Smith, who was part of the original 18-member limited-overs squad, has already flown back after a thigh injury.”David has been left out of the Australian ODI squad for this tour purely due to his recent lack of form in this format,” Darren Lehmann, the Australia coach, said. “By his own admission, David would acknowledge that unfortunately he hasn’t scored the weight of runs that he would like recently in one-day cricket for his country.”Warner was part of Australia’s Champions Trophy squad in England, but featured in just one match, scoring 9 against England, but was suspended from the team after a bar incident in Birmingham. He has only played three more ODIs this year, in January against Sri Lanka, and scored 10, 60 and 4. Warner scored a 42-ball 53 on Saturday in the second T20 against England, but that wasn’t enough to sway the selectors.”Like all selection matters, it was a tough decision, but like all players he understands the situation and knows he needs to get back to playing Ryobi Cup and making a heap of runs that we can’t ignore,” Lehmann said. “I spoke with David at length about what he needs to do and I’ve been impressed with his attitude since I’ve come into the Australian setup.”Australia kickstart the ODI leg of the tour with a one-off match against Scotland in Edinburgh on September 3 before taking on England for a five-match series that starts on September 6 in Leeds.Squad: Michael Clarke (capt), George Bailey, Fawad Ahmed, Nathan Coulter-Nile, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, Josh Hazlewood, Phillip Hughes, Mitchell Johnson, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Clint McKay, Adam Voges, Matthew Wade (wk), Shane Watson.
Fim do mistério.

Brisbane Heat will be without several key players, either due to injury or IPL franchise commitments
Brydon Coverdale19-Sep-2013Overview Like Perth Scorchers, Australia’s BBL champions Brisbane Heat will enter this tournament without their leading run scorer from last summer. Luke Pomersbach is unavailable for the Champions League for family reasons and the squad will also have to do without Shane Watson, who will be playing for Rajasthan Royals; Mitchell Johnson, who is with Mumbai Indians; Thisara Perera, who is with Sunrisers Hyderabad; and the injured Ryan Harris. It leaves them short on big names, although any attack boasting Kemar Roach must still be respected, while Alister McDermott, Ben Cutting and Nathan Hauritz will back him up with a combination of youthful talent and experience. The captain, James Hopes, has plenty of international experience on which to draw as well.Watson’s presence would really have been a bonus, for he played only one game in the BBL last summer, but the absence of Pomersbach (397 runs at 44.11) is a major blow to the batting. Joe Burns is a serious young talent but one more suited to the longer formats, while Chris Lynn perhaps has the power to have an impact in this tournament and could use it as a chance to kickstart his season. Much will be asked of Daniel Christian, the allrounder, who has played Twenty20 cricket for three IPL franchises, two counties and three Australian domestic teams, as well as 11 times for his country.Key player That Daniel Christian has the ability to be a force in this tournament, with both bat and ball, is not in question. But after a difficult 2012-13 summer, which led him to move from South Australia to Victoria during the off season, it will be interesting to see whether he enters this series with a freer approach and a clearer mind. A clean hitter and wicket-taking seamer – though one who can be expensive in T20 cricket – Christian was considered good enough to be part of Australia’s World T20 campaign last year, but has not played international cricket since.Surprise package One way or another, allrounder Chris Sabburg will be a surprise package in this tournament if he plays. Why? Because he is yet to bat or bowl for Brisbane Heat, despite playing for them three times last summer. He did, however, take five catches, and has an impressive pedigree – he is the cousin of former Australia fast bowler Andy Bichel and the nephew of the former Queensland fast bowler Dirk Tazelaar. A worker at Brisbane’s fruit and vegetable markets, Sabburg bowls offspin and bats left-handed.Weaknesses Given the subcontinental pitches on which this tournament will be played, the Heat’s spin depth could be a concern. Hauritz is the only specialist spinner in the squad, and Sabburg is the only man who could offer him any significant backup, although Lynn’s part-time left-armers have been used on occasion. It also appears doubtful whether the squad boasts enough big-hitting batsmen, the same issue that might affect their compatriots the Perth Scorchers.

Dominic Sibley, the Surrey schoolboy who became the youngest scorer of a Championship double-hundred last week, has been named among England’s Under-19 touring party for a tri-series in the UAE during December. Yorkshire’s 15-year-old bowler Matthew Fisher was also included in the 18-man squad. The Under-19s form part of a larger England Development Programme intake for the winter, announced by the ECB. The players selected will take on Pakistan and UAE, ahead of the Under-19 World Cup in February 2014, also to be held in the UAE. The other half of the EDP, formed largely of Under-17s, will take part in training and development camps at Loughborough, with fixtures scheduled against Sri Lanka Under-17s next year.”This winter will offer great development opportunities for both of these squads of young players,” the EDP chairman of selectors, David Graveney, said. “We will have two competitive England Under-19 tours for the players selected to be involved in, which will be an excellent opportunity for development and also the testing of skills of our best young players under tournament pressure in challenging conditions.”The EDP squad will also have a great opportunity to develop their games at a world class facility at the NCPC in Loughborough, with access to a variety of leading coaches, plus later a training camp in Sri Lanka testing their skills under extremely tough conditions.”England U-19s squad: Tom Barber (Hampshire), Ed Barnard (Worcestershire), Karl Carver (Yorkshire), Joe Clarke (Worcestershire), Ben Duckett (Northamptonshire), Harry Finch (Sussex), Matthew Fisher (Yorkshire), Miles Hammond (Gloucestershire), Ryan Higgins (Middlesex), Robert Jones (Lancashire), Lewis McManus (Hampshire), Rob Sayer (Leicestershire), Will Rhodes (Yorkshire), Josh Shaw (Yorkshire), Dom Sibley (Surrey), Jonny Tattersall (Yorkshire), Kishen Velani (Essex), Jack Winslade (Surrey)England Development Programme squad: Ben Green (Somerset), Max Holden (Middlesex), Arthur Godsal (Middlesex), Aaron Beard (Essex), Harry Dearden (Lancashire), Saqib Mahmood (Lancashire), Haseeb Hameed (Lancashire), Jared Warner (Yorkshire), Mosun Hussain (Yorkshire) Joe Weatherley (Hampshire), Aneurin Donald (Glamorgan), Simon Walton (Nottinghamshire), Matt Taylor (Northamptonshire), Tom Moores (Leicestershire), Brad Taylor (Hampshire), Anuj Dal (Nottinghamshire), Harvey Hosein (Derbyshire)
O time se empenhou.
